Shipu Town is located in the central coastal area of Zhejiang and at the southern end of the Xiangshan Peninsula. It is bordered by Xinqiao Town and Dingtang Town to the north; it controls the Sanmen Bay to the west; it faces Hepu Town and Gaotang Town across the harbor to the south; and it is adjacent to the Dayu Ocean and Maotau Ocean to the east, known as an important town in the middle of Zhejiang Ocean.
Shipu Town is one of China’s famous historical and cultural towns, one of the six major central fishing ports in the country, a national second-class open port, a comprehensive reform pilot town for small towns in Zhejiang Province, one of the first pilot towns for small city cultivation, and one of the first pilot towns for satellite city construction in Ningbo City.
