The Shishui Causeway was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It is erected on a flat, wide and slow-flowing river surface in Xidong Village, Shiyang Town. It is 144 meters long and has a total of 233 steps. Each step is divided into two levels, high and low. The high level can be used by people carrying shoulder poles or when the water rises. The low level can accommodate two people walking side by side. For the selection of stones, the builders also took great pains. White granite is used for the high ones, and bluestone is used for the low ones. This combination of color and stone quality is not only beautiful, but also allows night walkers to travel unimpeded by the reflected light of the faint star and moon light. When the water rises, others can also see it clearly. There is a deeper meaning: stones are chosen for their firmness, planning for eternity; colors are chosen for their whiteness, showing the benefit of crossing.

Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
