Shitai Gu Niujiang Scenic Area, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, is located in the Gu Niujiang National Nature Reserve on the magical 30th north latitude. It is situated within the jurisdiction of Shitai County, Chizhou City, one of China’s three selenium-rich areas. As the main extension of the Huangshan Mountain range, the main peak of Gu Niujiang stands at 1727 meters above sea level, ranking as the third highest peak in Southern Anhui. The area boasts high mountains, dense forests, and is seldom visited by people, offering a superior climate, and is referred to by ecologists as the ‘Green Natural Museum’ and ‘Wildlife Population Gene Bank’.
The Shitai Gu Niujiang Scenic Area encompasses four main scenic spots: Longmen Scenic Area, Shuanglong Valley, Lingshan Scenic Area, and the Main Peak Scenic Area. Among them, the Longmen Scenic Area is a mountainous tourist attraction that integrates canyons, ancient villages, and pristine pastoral scenery. The region features a long history of Huizhou-style ancient villages, steep and beautiful high mountain canyons, beautiful pastoral scenery, and clear and green rivers and deep pools. The natural pristine ecology is known as the ‘Little Jiuzhaigou’ of the Jiangnan area and is a health and wellness destination with high ‘negative oxygen ions’.
