Shiyan Rock is located on the southeast side of Xiqiao Mountain. It is an ancient quarry site. Since the early Ming Dynasty, many skilled craftsmen have been mining rocks here. The Shiyan Rock scenic area includes scenic spots such as Jingliang Pavilion, Skylight Lattice, Stone Screen, Shiyan Rock, Stone Ancestral Hall, Yunyan Ancient Temple, Yunyan Waterfall, and Mushroom Stone. The Stone Screen is under the Skylight Lattice and at the entrance of Shiyan Rock.
It is about several tens of meters long, about 20 meters high, and only 1 meter wide. Looking directly at it is like a green peak unsheathed. Looking sideways, it is like a screen at the bottom of a cloud. It is quite majestic. It is the boundary mark left by ancient quarry workers. Now it has become a rather spectacular scenic spot. Shiyan Rock is named after the stone swallows that inhabit it. The entrance of the cave is flat like lips. Inside, it is wide. The kiln can accommodate a thousand people. The rock is divided into two layers, inside and outside. The outer cave is several tens of feet high. The cave wall is condensed with pearls and dew. Even in midsummer in June, it is still cool. The inner cave is filled with water to form a lake. It is a water cave. The lake water is dark blue and crystal clear. There are yachts on the water for tourists to enjoy. There are two huge rocks in the water cave. One is exposed on the water surface and looks like a car. It is called ‘Underwater Car’. One is immersed in the water and looks like an archway. It is called ‘Colorful Archway’. Its shape is extremely vivid and amazing. The waterway of the water cave is deep and there are caves within caves and there is a sky beyond the sky. Many waterways have not been explored yet. Strangely, whenever the sudden rain stops, a layer of white mist pervades the cave, making people feel even more deep and mysterious.
