Shuanglong Gorge is located in the green valley of Qingshan, 2.5 kilometers south of Huocun, Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District. Its scenery can be summarized in sixteen characters: ‘Ten miles of streams, a hundred waterfalls, a thousand mu of apricot blossoms, and ten thousand hectares of forest sea.’ The scenery of Shuanglong Gorge is picturesque all year round: from January to March, tread on the ten-mile glacier and enjoy a hundred ice waterfalls; from March to April, enjoy the tide of a thousand mu of apricot blossoms like a sea; from April to May, enjoy the ice waterfall in the spring outing season; from June to October, there are ten miles of streams, a hundred waterfalls, a thousand mu of apricot orchards, ten thousand hectares of forest sea, green mountains and valleys, and a paradise on earth; from November to December, enjoy the red leaves all over the mountains shining brightly.
Here, you can also experience the thrilling mountain climbing and exploration in the primeval forest. Take the unique forest small train and travel between the mountains. The fragrance of flowers comes head-on, making people relaxed and happy, just like a fairyland. Entering the scenic area by small train, all the way through the stream canyon, the scenery is very beautiful. If you come here between December and May of the following year, you will also have a chance to see the first ice waterfall. The pure white ice waterfall lies across here, which is very spectacular. When you come here, you must bring a camera and leave this rare ice waterfall landscape. But it is especially emphasized that you must pay attention to safety. If you accidentally fall, it will be very troublesome. In addition to the ice waterfall, there is also a unique forest small train here. When you take the small train, it is like arriving at Jiaopigou in ‘Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy’. This is something you can’t experience in other places. The opening hours of the scenic area are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round. Preferential policies: Children: Children under 6 years old or under 1.2 meters are exempt from tickets.
