Shuangmendong is located under Duxiu Peak. Li Shisui, a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations in the Ming Dynasty and a native of Changyu, said: ‘Under Duxiu Peak, greenery piles up. The secluded tower is like entering a small Penglai. The precious grass in the mountains is unknown to anyone. The peach blossoms in the cave bloom in vain.’ A poet from Changyu in the Qing Dynasty also had a five-character quatrain: ‘The deep mountains are not affected by the heat.
Nothing is better than Shuangmendong. When I come, the wind greets me. When I leave, the wind sees me off.’ These two poems are an excellent portrayal of Shuangmendong. Countless cave scenic spots in Changyu Cave Heaven are all secluded, strange and beautiful, just like a fairyland. Shichuanxi Stream, Wild Man Waterfall, and Dragon Scale Waterfall maintain perfect natural features. The scenery is extremely beautiful and each has its own characteristics, attracting people. It is a sightseeing and leisure scenic area integrating the natural scenery of green mountains and clear waters, religious culture, and stone culture landscapes. Inside the cave, the huge stone-carved Maitreya Buddha statue is 5 meters high and 7 meters wide. The kind face of the Buddha makes people feel happy when they see it. Well-known brands include the only cave concert hall in Asia. It became famous at home and abroad because of the successful holding of ‘China’s first cave concert’ on April 28, 2002. There is a stone-carved big bowl with a diameter of 2.12 meters, which has been included in the Guinness World Records. Stone culture corridor: 33 stone-carved Avalokitesvara on the wall. The top of the cave is penetrated in many places, and the skylight and cloud shadows make the inside of the cave brightly lit.
