The term ‘Shuiman’ in the Li language signifies ‘extremely ancient and supreme’. Located at the foot of the Wuzhishan Mountains, Shuiman Township is the highest-altitude township in Hainan Island, encompassing five administrative villages—Fanglong, Shuiman, Manar, Yapai, and Xincun—along with 27 village groups and a total population of 4,653, predominantly Li and Miao ethnic groups, accounting for 95.
8% of the total population. Shuiman is situated deep within the Wuzhishan mountainous region, known as ‘nine parts mountain, half water, half a part field’, with over 85% of its geographical area within the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. ‘Manar’ in the Li language means ‘a community with profound heritage and kinship ties’. As a model for rural tourism in Wuzhishan City, Manar Village serves as a small window for us to appreciate the beauty of Wuzhishan. We hope visitors can experience the picturesque ecological scenery, taste authentic local cuisine, participate in rich folk activities, and immerse in the unique rural atmosphere, eventually falling in love with Shuiman Township and Wuzhishan. The area is open all year round from 09:00 to 17:30.Shuiman Manar Ecological Tourism Area
