Shuiyueyan is a newly discovered cave landscape in Yulin, rich in pristine natural atmosphere. The diverse and awe-inspiring stalactites attract numerous visitors. Xu Xiake, a famous traveler, once left his footprints here. Within Shuiyueyan, there is a hidden cave named ‘Cangguo Chao’, which is divided into two sections: a bright cave and a dark cave. On the stone wall at the entrance of the cave, there are three characters ‘Shuiyueyan’ carved in the Ming Dynasty.
On the top of the mountain, there is a small hole through which sunlight filters, resembling the gentle moonlight. The name of the cave has a legendary story behind it. It is said that Emperor Huidi of Ming (Zhu Yunwen, the grandson of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of Ming Dynasty) once took refuge here, and since then, the local people have called it ‘Cangguo Chao’. The scenic area is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policy for medical staff: National medical workers can bring their families (including parents, spouses, and children) without limit to enjoy free admission to the main ticket (excluding sightseeing buses and secondary consumption in the park) by providing relevant certificates and proof of kinship until December 31, 2020.
