Sihai Park, located in Shekou, Shenzhen, was built in 1987. The total area of the park is more than 13,000 square meters and it is a relatively large park in Shekou. Through continuous improvement year by year, new scenic spots, art sculptures, children’s playgrounds, and art tea houses have made the park a comprehensive cultural park for people in Shekou to relax and entertain. There are a total of 13 main buildings and scenic spots in the park, such as ‘Tongji Garden’, ‘Flower Appreciation Pavilion’, ‘Wangyu Pavilion’, ‘Huxin Pavilion’, ‘Wanmu Corridor’, ‘Grass Pavilion’, and ‘Rain Shelter Pavilion’. As the names suggest, these have Lingnan garden characteristics and all reflect the ingenuity of the garden planners. The park carefully cultivates and protects 619 lychee trees that are nearly a hundred years old. The annual income from lychees not only provides a large number of fresh lychees for the market but also provides a source for the park’s lack of funds. There are two artificial lakes in the park. The East Lake is mainly planted with lotus flowers, and the West Lake is mainly based on water amusement park projects. The total area of the two lakes is 39,600 square meters. Between the two lakes, there is a ‘Nine-bend Bridge’ built to imitate pine trees, a ‘Jade Belt Bridge’ with the characteristics of Suzhou garden water towns, a small and exquisite ‘Curved Slab Bridge’ like a wooden bridge, and a ‘Nine-hole Bridge’ imitating the gardens of the Summer Palace in Beijing. Open all year round from 8:00 to 22:00.
