Site of Shufeng Pavilion

Shufeng Pavilion, situated in Xihu District, Hangzhou City, has a rich history. Initially known as Biaozhong Shrine, it was dedicated to six gentlemen, including Ni Yuanlu from the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty. Over time, the shrine fell into disuse and its location shifted multiple times. In 1877, during the third year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty, the site was reconstructed.

According to “The Records of Xiling Seal Engravers Society,” gatherings of colleagues to discuss seal engraving were frequent at Shufeng Pavilion prior to the society’s establishment. This makes Shufeng Pavilion the birthplace of the Seal Engravers Society. Unfortunately, the pavilion later collapsed, leaving only ruins behind. Following archaeological excavations in 2009, the site was reopened to the public.

Shufeng Pavilion is open to visitors from 08:30 to 16:30 throughout the year. However, the specific business status on any given day may vary depending on the opening conditions.
