Sizhuang Garden’s Forty-Four Bridges: A Wonder of Art and Nature

Forty-Four Bridges is one of the ten scenic spots in Sizhuang Garden. Constructed from white granite, the Forty-Four Bridges meander and undulate like dragons and snakes. It wonderfully blends human craftsmanship with natural elements. Leaning on the bridge railing, one can gaze at the autumn waters and the vast sky merging into one color outside the garden; looking back inside, red flowers and green leaves support each other.

In the middle of the Forty-Four Bridges, two huge stones are stacked, standing tall and proudly overlooking the sea and sky, inscribed with ‘Vast Sea and Sky’ and ‘Pillow Stream’. These massive stones act as a watershed, dividing the Forty-Four Bridges into two paths. The bridge is adorned with numerous pavilions, each with its unique design. It is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
