It is not only the main battle base of Chennault’s Flying Tigers, but also famous at home and abroad for bravely guarding the anti-fascist headquarters and bombing Tokyo, Japan. It is the epitome of witnessing this era. After liberation, Liangping military airport became a training base for PLA Air Force pilots.
It has trained China’s first batch of all-weather fighter pilots and a large number of astronauts including Yang Liwei, who was the first to log in space in China.
