Song Art Museum

Located by the Wenyu River in Shunyi District, Beijing, the Song Art Museum was designed by the renowned designer Mr. Zhou Guangming and officially opened to the public in 2017. In 2021, Mr. Ding Zehua took over as the director, taking full responsibility for the operation and management of the museum. The Song Art Museum currently boasts a rich collection of modern and contemporary Chinese art since the 20th century.


The museum’s operations focus on ‘collection’, ‘research’, ‘dissemination’, and ‘education’, striving to form a forward-looking perspective on the development of contemporary Chinese art. The goal of the Song Art Museum is to collaborate with domestic and international experts and scholars to vigorously promote and carry out in-depth contemporary art research, exhibitions, and experimental projects, enhancing the museum’s academic and professional construction, and consciously fulfilling the role of a private museum in providing public cultural services to society.


Opening hours are Tuesday-Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 all year round; the museum is closed all day on Mondays; on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, the museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00. Preferential policies include: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) are admitted for free with the accompaniment of an adult; full-time primary, middle, and high school students (excluding adult education and graduate students) with valid documents receive discounts; seniors aged 65 and above receive discounts; active-duty military personnel with valid documents receive discounts; people with disabilities with valid documents receive discounts; and medical staff with valid documents receive discounts.
