The Songshan forest tourist area is part of the Songshan Nature Reserve. It is located in the northwest of Yanqing District, Beijing, in the Jundu Mountains deep in the Yanshan Mountains. It is more than 90 kilometers away from the urban area. The climate of the tourist area is a typical mountain climate. Due to the influence of altitude and small terrain, the climate is pleasant. In 1986, it was listed as a nature reserve by the State Council.


The Songshan tourist area takes natural landscapes as the main body, with abundant and unique scenic resources. The Haituo Mountain in the area is 2199.6 meters above sea level and is the second highest peak in Beijing. There are more than 30 scenic spots in the area, such as natural Pinus tabulaeformis forest, BaiPu Spring, Baxian Cave, Songyue Lake, male lion drinking water, golden toad looking at the moon, Feilong Wall, etc.

The Songshan hot spring has been famous since ancient times and is an ideal place for bathing. As early as the Northern Wei Dynasty more than 1500 years ago, it was ‘cut stones and dug ponds’ for ‘ladies to bathe’.
