Walking along the secluded forest path to the mountainside, there is a path to the left that descends along the uneven stone steps and comes to a place called Qiao Gorge. Looking up, one can see the towering cliffs carved by uncanny craftsmanship reaching into the clouds. The two walls of the gorge are only a few inches apart. The bottom of the gorge is divided into three sections by three huge rocks.
A clear spring flows out of the gorge. The waterfall more than 100 meters in the air crashes against the rocks, rolling up waves and flying pearls, presenting a magnificent sight. On the stone wall at the entrance of the gorge, the Song people engraved four elegant and upright characters of ‘Songpu Spring and Stone’. Due to the long history, it is not very clear anymore. There are also stone inscriptions such as ‘This is a place outside the mortal world. Why enter? The cliffs are deep. The beautiful water is clear to the bottom. Come and sit in meditation. There are many hermits hidden in dangerous rocks. In spring, people build embankments and hoe the deserted paths’. Exit Qiao Gorge and walk up about 50 steps. There are a thousand steps of stone steps, which are as steep as a ladder in the clouds. Looking up, one can actually see the soles of the feet of the people in front. It is called ‘Hundred Steps Steep’ and is a pass of the ancient battlefield.Opening hours: Open all year round from 09:00 to 21:00.
