The Sony ExploraScience科技馆 is located in Chaoyang Park, Beijing. It is the first public welfare science popularization venue themed on ‘light’ and’sound’ of Sony Corporation in the world. The science and technology museum has two floors above ground and one floor underground. Inside the museum, there are not only numerous exhibits that apply Sony’s cutting-edge technologies in the fields of digital, IT, audio and video, but also a rich variety of on-site activities.
The underground floor is equipped with five light and color experience areas and one live performance area. The first floor above ground mainly includes the guidance area, digital classroom, special exhibition area, ExploraScience store and ExploraScience café. The second floor above ground has four sound experience areas and one experimental Dream Workshop. It mainly displays exhibits such as Professor Pfifflick’s three-dimensional universe, light and shadow tunnel, secrets of the eyes, magic turntable, spiral flower, colorful shadow, sound wave waltz, swinging window, mysterious smile and so on. The science and technology museum also often holds some activities and lectures to enable visitors to better understand the wonders of light and sound. Opening hours: Open from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00 on Wednesdays to Sundays throughout the year; closed all day on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the year; open from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
