The South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is a subtropical botanical garden in South China with a long history, a rich collection of species, and a large area. The garden is known for its beautiful scenery, evergreen throughout the seasons, and a strong tropical atmosphere. It is acclaimed as the ‘International Exposition of Wonders of Trees’ that never ends and is honored with the title of ‘Emerald of Southern China’. The exhibition greenhouse complex, when viewed from above, resembles four ‘kapok flowers’ in full bloom in the beautiful Flower City, and is considered one of the iconic structures of Guangzhou. The garden is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:30.
