The Southern Song Dynasty Coin Museum, covering an area of over 1500 square meters, officially opened in 1996. It houses a collection of more than 60,000 coins, comprising over 5000 varieties. The preservation of a vast array of coin artifacts provides economists and social scientists with relatively complete economic data from the Southern Song capital over eight hundred years ago. The museum is divided into three exhibition halls: the first features actual coins, primarily from the Southern Song period, along with over 20,000 coins unearthed from West Lake; the second includes rubbings and documents; and the third showcases supporting artifacts such as bronze ware, porcelain, and jade that set the context of the era. Opening hours are from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:30; closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
