This exquisite chapel was originally constructed in 1629 and was rebuilt in 1740 on the Barra Fort, located at the southern tip of the small city of Macau. At that time, the chapel was part of a Portuguese inn building, which was built on the foundations of the fort. Inside this delicate chapel, one can find statues of saints and the image of Our Lady of Fatima, as well as the tile image of Queen Isabel. St. James is the patron saint of the military in Macau. It is said that he often patrolled the city, causing his boots to be covered in mud. A soldier was specifically assigned to clean the boots of the statue, but one day he forgot to polish them, and as a result, he was injured by the sword of the statue. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
