Lin Zuan Tong, a juren from the late Qing Dynasty, was an outstanding figure from Hainan who participated in the Hundred Days’ Reform, known as a gentleman of the Wuxu Reform. After the failure of the reform, Lin Zuan Tong returned to Hainan and was stripped of his academic title by the Qing court. He was the first person in China to advocate for the development of the Xisha Islands, praised as a fortunate event in the expansion of Chinese territory. The statue is open all year round, with 24-hour access, subject to the specific operating conditions on the day.
