In the stele pavilion on Su Causeway in the West Lake, there are four characters ‘Spring Dawn at Su Causeway’ inscribed by Emperor Qianlong on the stele. This long causeway with a total length of 2.8 kilometers, which has witnessed more than 900 years of vicissitudes, wakes up the spring of the West Lake and thus becomes the number one scenic spot among the ‘Ten Scenes of the West Lake’.
