The ‘Stone Dragon Wonder’, commonly known as Xiaoyang Stone Dragon, is located in Dachengyu Mountain in the northeast of Xiaoyangshan. It is about a hundred meters long and has a circumference of ten meters. There are two stone dragons, one on top of the other. The head is to the west and the tail is to the east, winding up the hill. The belly is white, intermittently suspended. The back is black with mottled dragon scales, shining like silver coins. Along the jaw, stone patterns surge and the dragon’s whiskers flutter. There are several spherical stones at the front end, so it is also called ‘Two Dragons Snatching a Pearl’. On top of the head is a small pool that accumulates rainwater and never dries up all year round. The water is as clear as a mirror and is called the ‘Dragon’s Eye Well’. To the south is a sheer cliff hundreds of feet high. To the north, across a small path is a deep ravine. The stone wall to the north of the ravine is thousands of feet high, continuous and pours down grandly. The ancient dragon in the secluded ravine is startling and makes people’s hearts pound and souls tremble. Under the undulating hills, the stone dragons move amid the mist. The vivid aura is vividly depicted on the painting.
