Shi Wu Homestead – A Historical Landmark

Shi Wu Homestead, originally known as the Shi Wu in Houwang Temple New Village built in the 1940s, stands on a foundation dating back to the 1880s. It was a two-story semi-European style mansion called He’s Homestead. After World War II, the area around Shi Wu became a shantytown with several film studios. In the 1970s, some residential units were converted into workshops. The village was demolished in 2001, leaving Shi Wu as the only remaining building in the village. It is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
