Sun Tzu Art of War City is located in the northwest corner of Huimin County, Shandong Province, and is a large-scale garden complex in the style of the Qin and Han dynasties, built by the people of Sun Tzu’s hometown to commemorate the great military strategist Sun Wu and to fully explore and promote Sun Tzu’s culture. It is built against the backdrop of the Song Dynasty city wall ruins, which have a history of thousands of years, and is themed around ‘peace, war, and wisdom’ to fully display the profound military wisdom of ‘The Art of War’, which is renowned both domestically and internationally.

The scenic area is composed of 15 palaces and 224 side rooms, with the entire architectural group exuding an ancient charm and full of Han Dynasty features. The pavilions, towers, and wells complement each other, with winding paths, green bamboo, ancient cypresses, and weeping willows swaying gracefully. It is the third largest courtyard-style cultural landscape in China after the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Confucius Temple in Qufu, and is an important part of Shandong Province’s ‘one mountain, one water, two sages’ tourism system.

The opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round, with the palaces and side rooms closing at 16:50. In case of holidays, golden weeks, or other special circumstances, the operating hours may be temporarily adjusted according to the on-site announcements of the scenic area.
