The Museum of Anthropology at Sun Yat-sen University, originally known as the Lingnan University Cultural Relics Museum, houses over 20,000 valuable artifacts. These include Bronze Age items from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, rubbings of inscriptions from the Han and Tang dynasties, calligraphy and paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and nearly a thousand paper documents such as photographs. Additionally, there are more than 2,000 artifacts excavated from the Paleolithic site of Ma’ban Man in Qujiang, as well as from the Stone Age sites along the Yellow and Yangtze rivers. The museum also boasts a collection of 450 pieces of porcelain from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.


The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that the museum’s specific operating status is subject to the daily opening conditions.
