The Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen is a relatively famous scenic spot in Zhongshan City. Whenever tourists come here, they will be deeply shocked by the four eye-catching golden characters ‘For the Welfare of All’ outside the scenic area. This is also a place for tourists to take photos. The venue faces west and is centered on Sun Yat-sen’s former residence in Cuiheng Village. It is open to the public in the form of museum exhibitions. On November 12, 1866, Sun Yat-sen was born here. Many of the exhibits in the former residence still maintain the scenes when Sun Yat-sen returned to his hometown and lived there from 1892 to 1895. In 1934, the former residence was handed over to the then National Government for management. After several twists and turns, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1986. From May to September on Saturdays and Sundays, and on legal holidays and golden weeks throughout the year, the opening hours are from 09:00 to 18:00 (admission stops at 17:30). If a Saturday or Sunday from May to September falls on a working day, the opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:30 (admission stops at 17:00).
