The Sunhu Sea of Flowers, a stunning natural spectacle, is nestled on both sides of Sunhu Road in Hongtang Street, Jiangbei District, Ningbo City. Spanning approximately 400 mu, this area was initially designated as controlled land. However, after being expropriated, it remained undeveloped. Seizing the opportunity, Jiangbei District capitalized on this idle land to cultivate a thriving ‘sea of flowers economy’ during the interim period.
During its blooming season, the Sunhu Sea of Flowers inevitably captures the attention of social media, becoming a popular backdrop for Moments and a de facto backyard for Ningbo residents. The sea of flowers is meticulously divided into sections, with various flowers planted at different times to extend the overall flowering period.
