Ta Xia Village is a small hamlet where a gentle stream flows through the center. Along the river, earth buildings and small, exquisite blue brick houses are scattered orderly in the narrow valley, with more than fifty square and round earth buildings and over thirty blue brick houses. Several stone bridges span the stream, evoking a sense of a secluded paradise.
Ta Xia Village is a Hakka settlement, with all villagers bearing the surname Zhang. Many of them went to Southeast Asia in the past, and upon achieving success, they returned to their hometown to bring honor to their family. Hence, despite its size, Ta Xia Village boasts five distinctive bridges. The Zhang family temple, De Yuan Hall, is located on the eastern hillside of the village and is one of the better-preserved ancient clan temple buildings visible today. In front of the temple stand 23 stone dragon flagpoles, each over 10 meters high, forming a rare spectacle. The flagpoles are inscribed with names, generations, titles, eras, official ranks, and the years when the poles were erected. Opening Hours: Open all year round, 24/7. Preferential Policies: 1.
