The Taihe Grotto scenic area is located on Huajian Mountain in the northern suburbs of Qingxin County. It is beside the old National Highway 107. It is only 2 kilometers away from the county seat and about 5 kilometers away from the urban area. It is 70 kilometers south from Guangzhou City. It is one of the main scenic spots in Qingyuan City’s five tourist routes – the fresh and natural ecological tourism route. Taihe Grotto was built in the fourth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (i.e. 1854). It has a history of more than 150 years and is a famous Taoist place. In the scenic area, the dangerous peaks are as sharp as knives and tower into the sky. The forests and valleys are deep and secluded. There are waterfalls and cliffs. Stone carvings are scattered everywhere. The brooks compete to flow. The four characters ‘Taihe Grotto’ embedded on the mountain gate were inscribed by Zhu Ruzhen, a person from Qingyuan who was the second place in the imperial examination in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:00 to 17:00. Supplementary note on preferential policies: 1. Free admission groups: Children under 1.2m (excluding) in height can enter the park for free. 2. The above information is for reference only. Please refer to the disclosure on the same day at Taihe Grotto Scenic Area.
