Taihe Mountain Scenic Area

Taihe Mountain, located in the lush southwest mountainous area of Qingzhou, Miaozhi Town, is a lesser-known scenic spot with peaks and ridges, clear waters, and picturesque landscapes. It is a comprehensive scenic area that integrates forest, geomorphological, and cultural landscapes. The Taihe Mountain Scenic Area is mainly divided into two parts: Tianyuan Valley and Huanghua Creek. Tianyuan Valley, with ‘harmony’ at its core and themed around religious and military fortress cultures, is divided into religious cultural experience area, mountain fortress cultural leisure area, and forest ecological sightseeing area, creating a cultural and leisure travel destination.

The valley runs through Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, with the construction of Taihe Temple, Ten Thousand Buddhas Hall, Bixia Palace, and Confucian Temple, and features famous inscriptions centered on ‘harmony’ culture, making it a place for good wishes and spiritual tranquility. The site retains the military fortress ruins of Tang Sai’er, a well-known female rebel of the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, consisting of several attractions such as Jiji Ding, Yingxiang Mountain, Central Military Fortress, Horse Running Gully, Horse Drinking Bay, Command Platform, and Flagpole Ruins, leaving behind many beautiful historical legends.

Huanghua Creek Scenic Area is surrounded by peaks, with a valley leading to a secluded place, having the momentum to penetrate the sky and the earth; clear streams converge into waves, thousands of waterfalls splash, forming the spirit of reaching the sea and passing through the clouds. On both banks, lilac reflects on the red cliffs, and a stream of yellow flowers reflects on the green pools. The steep cliffs, deep canyons, murmuring streams, and spectacular waterfalls make it the first heavenly waterfall valley in Shandong, forming a pattern of ‘one axis for overall view, two rings for integration, six areas for connection, twelve scenes for reflection’, based on natural resources of water, stone, mountain, and forest, to jointly build the theme landscape.

According to the distribution of natural resources in the valley, it is divided into six scenic areas: Yuanqi Forest, Xiaoyao Jin, Pudu Boat, Enlightenment Mountain, Huanghua Slope, and Niutou Mountain, forming a great place for sightseeing and leisure vacations.
