Taizhou Sports Center is the largest, highest-standard, and most comprehensive modern sports and cultural facility in Taizhou’s history, located at the southwest end of the main axis of Taizhou’s city center, covering an area of 523 acres.
The main structures of the sports center include a stadium and three indoor venues, along with corresponding supporting facilities. These include a main stadium with a capacity of 40,000 people, a gymnasium with 4,500 seats, a swimming pool with 3,000 seats, and a tennis court with 2,500 seats.
The design concept of the main stadium is ‘Setting Sail’, featuring a light and floating canopy over the stands and tall masts, symbolizing a giant ship about to embark. It corresponds with the 1/4 circular arc platform in the northeast corner and the entrance square, creating a grand visual effect.
