In recent years, to commemorate this Chaoshan ‘Master of Neo-Confucianism’, Mr. Tang Liangsong has funded the construction of the ‘Tang Boyuan Memorial Hall’. The hall is located in the Hexi Town Boyuan’s former residence, Taoyuan Harmony Ecological Park, 10 kilometers north of Chengcheng. The park covers an area of over 100 acres, with a building area of more than 2,600 square meters, featuring pavilions, towers, and gardens with a tranquil atmosphere, all very distinctive.
The Tang Boyuan Memorial Hall is built against the mountain, facing southeast, and adopts the Chaoshan-style Ming Dynasty hard mountain top courtyard hall architectural form, showcasing traditional Chaoshan wood carving, stone carving, inlaid porcelain, and murals. The plaque at the entrance of the hall, ‘Tang Boyuan Memorial Hall’, is handwritten by the former chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Wu Nansheng, and the former secretary of the Shantou University Party Committee, Huang Zanfa, wrote the inscription for the memorial hall.

Upon entering the hall, the central part of the main hall features a seated statue of Tang Boyuan, wearing an official hat, court dress, and black boots, lifelike. Above the main hall hangs a horizontal plaque ‘Master of Neo-Confucianism’, a gift from Emperor Ming Xi Zong, with a pair of couplets on both sides: ‘A腔 of integrity to judge the achievements of officials, two memorials to purify the Confucian style.

‘, and the corridors display information about Boyuan’s life and some of his poems. The hall also collects calligraphy masterpieces of poetry and couplets from Chengjiang scholars.

Within the park, there are also scenic spots such as the ‘Drunken Scripture Tower’ and the ‘Fishing Platform’, making it a comprehensive scenic area integrating historical culture and garden landscapes, adding a beautiful and pleasant tourist attraction to Chenghai. The remains of Tang Boyuan’s hometown residence are now only seen as broken walls and ruins, with an existing jackfruit tree and an ancient well in the former residence; the ‘Tang Family Temple’ in his hometown, the ‘Loyalty and Filial Piety’ plaque, and Tang Boyuan’s tombstone are well-preserved cultural relics, which have a certain value for tourism development. The hall is open from 1/1 to 12/31 from 08:00 to 18:00.
