China’s Tank Museum, opened in August 1998, is the only tank museum in the country and across Asia. The museum is divided into four main sections: the history of the People’s Armored Force, tank and armored vehicles, tank training simulators, and weapon simulation models, encompassing a total of 11 exhibition halls. Numerous images and documents are also on display, reflecting the growth journey of our military’s armored forces from non-existence to strength.

The museum exhibits tanks, armored vehicles, and tank training simulators from various historical periods and models. The exhibition halls showcase China’s newly developed heavy tanks as well as distinguished tanks from wartime. There are tanks aided by the Soviet Union, Japanese tanks captured during the Anti-Japanese War, and American-made tanks captured during the Liberation War. The museum displays a variety of tanks and self-propelled guns currently in service or retired from the People’s Liberation Army, including enemy vehicles captured or received after World War II, all exhibited in their actual form, greatly enhancing the museum’s appeal.

In addition, there are materials, photos, and commemorative relics related to the development history of the People’s Liberation Army’s armored troops, as well as various tanks, main guns, and driving simulators. The museum is open all year round from 09:00 to 16:00, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
