Have you ever seen your soul? As the first solo concert in Tao Zhe’s music career, the ‘Soul Power Tour’ is a deeply etched musical experience in the memory of those who have felt the impact live or later through live albums and films. It is also considered a classic in concert history by music critics. Without makeup, extravagant costumes, or dazzling audio-visual effects, there is only the rich power of the soul and a full sense of musical touch. After a 20-year hiatus, Tao Zhe officially launches the ‘Soul Power II World Tour,’ bringing the pure and profound musical touch of ‘Soul Power’ back to you. Naming the tour with ‘Soul Power’ again, which is meaningful to both the artist and fans, ‘Soul Power II’ is not a remake or upgrade of the original concert. Instead, it is a new creation that aims to find the ‘musical essence’ and ‘soul nature’ of live concerts after years of musical journey and various ups and downs, dedicated to the present ‘Soul Power II’ concert. The opportunity to initiate the ‘Soul Power II World Tour’ came after Tao Zhe held the 25th anniversary concert ‘Bring The Light In Welcome’ in 2023. He released new songs ‘The Song That Will Be Sung All Over The World’ and ‘Deserved’ and re-recorded ‘Quicksand’ and ‘I’m OK’ with the concept of ‘Re-Imagined.’ In the midst of his busy schedule of activities and performances, he was surprised to find that many young fans from the post-90s and post-00s generations know his works well, even though these songs are almost as old as them. He is curious about this phenomenon but also understands that good music can indeed break through the limitations of time, region, and interpersonal relationships. A touch from music that goes deep into the soul is meaningful and valuable. Therefore, he decided to bring back the spirit of ‘Soul Power’ and invest it in the planning of the world tour. In addition to facing a new era and new audiences, Tao Zhe also collaborates with a new generation of excellent musicians in the ‘Soul Power II World Tour.’ Fergus Chow, who has served as the music director for concerts by artists like Fanda Tong, A-lin, and Yuan Yawei, and is also a well-known producer, composer, and arranger, is the music director. Guitarist Derrick Sepnio Zhang Deming, keyboardist Terrence Hsieh Xie Yanhui, and the master of harmony Brandy are all outstanding musicians who have been nominated and awarded many times and are of producer level.
David Tao’s long-term musical partners, guitarist Jamie Wilson and drummer Tony Parker, are also in the lineup of musicians, jointly forming an international-level music team. This makes people even more expectant of the wonderful musical sparks that will be generated. Since his debut, he has only released seven full albums and has accumulated countless classic tracks. In the ‘Re-Imagined’ series works released in 2023, David Tao infused new souls into classic works through re-arranging and re-recording. This is also for one day on a larger stage, he can deliver greater power and touch to the fans on site. Such a spirit will be realized in the ‘Soul Power II World Tour Concert’. Songs like ‘Find Myself’, ‘Black Tangerine’, ‘Small Town Girl’, ‘Just Friends’, ‘Everyday’, ‘Butterfly’, ’10:30 at the Airport’, ‘Beach’, ‘Melody’, ‘Lonely Season’, etc. that fans are looking forward to the new Re-Imagined versions. In addition, there may be some surprise tracks that haven’t been performed in concerts for a long time. Along with David Tao’s another annual plan in 2024: the eighth personal album that has been in preparation and production for nearly four years is about to be officially released. Fans participating in ‘Soul Power II’ will have the opportunity to become witnesses of the debut of new songs at the concert. Opening time: December 14th – December 15th, Saturday – Sunday. About 120 minutes (subject to the actual situation on site).
