Taocun is a town under the jurisdiction of Qixia City, Yantai. According to legend, during the Chenghua period (1465 – 1487), the Sun family moved here from Taohuawu, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province to build a village. After the people of the Sun family settled down in Qixia, because they missed the peach blossom forest in their homeland, they named the village Taocun.
