Taohuayu is located at the western foot of Mount Tai. The upper section is called Taohuayuan, and the lower section is called Taohuayu. In ancient times, it was named after being full of peach blossoms. Li He of the Tang Dynasty had a poem that ‘Peach blossoms are falling chaotically like red rain.’ This place is also known as Hongyuchuan and Hongfuchuan. Taohuayu has a beautiful and serene scenery with gurgling brooks. The famous one is the Taishan scaleless carp. Due to the clear water with high oxygen content, less minerals, and low hardness, it has become a prosperous breeding ground for Taishan scaleless carp. Four different varieties of scaleless carp, namely gold, silver, iron, and grass, all live here. They appear and disappear between the crevices and algae, with nimble and graceful figures. Taohuayu is also one of the climbing routes. Compared with other climbing routes on Mount Tai, it is very convenient. Tourists can take a bus here and then take the cable car up the mountain. Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00.
