Taoyuan Academy, a prestigious institution of learning, is nestled at the foot of the mountains in Yingshan Village, Mojie Town, Haishu District, Ningbo City. Wang established it in the ninth year of the Xingning era of the Song Dynasty, converting his residence ‘Zhuogutang’ into the academy.
During the Song Dynasty, it served as a gathering place for literati in Eastern Zhejiang, attracting scholars and intellectuals from the region. However, in the early years of the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the academy was unfortunately destroyed by a fire, leading to the disappearance of this once glorious educational venue.
Fortunately, on the original site, people reconstructed Taoyuan Academy, transforming it into a great place for visitors to explore and relax.
