Ta Wan Scenic Area is located on the eastern part of Taohua Island, surrounded by mountains on the north, west, and south sides, facing the vast sea to the east. The Thousand-Step Golden Sand is adjacent to the clear waters of the harbor, with clear waves outside the beach and a golden glow on the beach itself. The area boasts lush green mountains, pure sands, and beautiful waters, resembling an inner lake beach along the coast of the sea.
There are also hundreds of acres of lavender fields here, with the sea breeze blowing and creating purple waves, accompanied by a fragrant aroma. The area also features a natural seaside bathing beach, where visitors can either take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the sea views, engage in various beach and sea activities, or walk among the flowers to experience the romance and tenderness of Taohua Island. The Thousand-Step Golden Sand beach is 1370 meters long and over 400 meters wide, making it one of the larger beaches in the Zhoushan Archipelago. The beach has a gentle slope, pure sand quality, and fine, soft sand grains, making it an ideal beach for sea bathing, sand bathing, sunbathing, and beach walking.
The two promontories extend into the sea, embracing the bay into a ‘lake’, with calm waters and clear, azure waters. Inside the bay, there are natural species such as grouper, tiger head fish, and swimming crabs, making it suitable for various water sports, fishing, and fishing. During the summer and autumn seasons, when the stars fade and the sun rises from the sea, the sea and the sand merge into one, forming the ‘Golden Sand Sunrise’ astronomical spectacle.
The hundred-acre herb garden is mainly composed of three types of purple flowers: lavender, pink calyx sage, and willow leaf verbena. Under the bright and dazzling sunlight, the dreamy purple blooms sway like shining amethysts, embodying the crystal clear love. When the purple spreads, the romance of love is deeply imprinted in the heart.
The park is open from 9/1 to 5/31 (off-season) from 08:00 to 16:30; from 6/1 to 8/31 (peak season) from 07:00 to 18:00. In case of special weather conditions, the opening hours are subject to the announcements of the scenic area.
