Yingde was formerly known as Yingzhou. It is ‘famous all over the world for producing black tea’. Up to now, Yingde tea area has become a relatively large tea export commodity production base in Guangdong Province. It has six categories of tea and more than forty excellent tea tree varieties, and has become a famous tea town in China. In Mako on the western outskirts of Yingde urban area, there is a high-aroma tea tree seedling base in the whole province designated by special funds and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture – Yingde City Tea Tree Improved Variety Breeding Demonstration Farm, covering an area of more than 1,000 mu.
It is adjacent to green mountains, set off by green trees, with fresh and humid air and misty clouds. The scenery is quite beautiful. Now it has been opened up into a new tourist tea garden – ‘Tea趣园’. Opening hours: Open all year round from 09:00 to 18:00.
