Teceng Island, also known as ‘Red Island’, is renowned for its red soil and peculiar red rocks. The island boasts fresh air and a spring-like climate year-round. It is home to more than 1000 acres of mangroves, which are nearly 500 years old and under national key protection, the 400-year-old Xita Temple, and sites of the Anti-Japanese Revolutionary War. Additionally, the island features white sand beaches and red peculiar rocks (volcanic rocks with high scientific and aesthetic value).
Teceng Island is located in a tropical and subtropical climate zone, with an average annual temperature of 21-22 degrees Celsius, making it spring-like all year round. The air quality is excellent, and the seawater is so clear that you can see the bottom. The island has nearly a hundred towering ancient banyan trees and scattered tropical shrubs. There is a 3-kilometer beach, and along the coast, there are nearly a thousand acres of natural mangroves under national protection. The word ‘Teceng’ is an ancient Yue term, where ‘Tecen’ means place, and ‘geng’ signifies harmony and auspiciousness. The villagers on the island have been engaged in fishing for generations.
The island is open all year round from 08:30 to 19:15. Ferry times for entering the island are: 08:30, 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, 16:30, 17:30, 19:00. Ferry times for leaving the island are: 08:45, 10:45, 12:45, 14:45, 16:45, 17:45, 19:15.
Concessions are offered for children under 1.2 meters in height, free of charge; for children between 1.2 meters and 1.5 meters in height, a discount is provided. Seniors aged 60 and above with ID and senior citizen cards are eligible for discounts. Students with student cards, active-duty military personnel with officer cards, and disabled individuals with disability certificates also receive discounts.
