The 39th Yanqing Ice and Snow Joy Season

Yanqing District has fully launched its 39th Ice and Snow Joy Season. The theme of the season is ‘Under the Great Wall, by the Gui River, Yanqing’s Ice and Snow Fever is Sky-High’, which will last from November 8, 2024, to February 28, 2025, with over a hundred cultural and tourism activities leading visitors to an ice and snow craze.

Over a hundred events cover six major sections: enjoying ice and snow parks, savoring ice and snow sports, appreciating lantern scenery, watching ice and snow competitions, relishing private hot springs and accommodations, and exploring intangible cultural heritage during the Chinese New Year.

In terms of ice and snow sports, the Yanqing Olympic Park has newly built a snowboard terrain slope and will open for the first time the ‘Rui Xue Avenue’, a downhill training track used in the Beijing Winter Olympics, providing ice and snow sports enthusiasts with an exceptional experience. Vanke Shi Jing Long Ski Resort will offer 10 sun-facing slopes and attentive services, allowing ski lovers to enjoy ice and snow sports while feeling ‘warm-hearted and warm-stomached’ care.

New ways to play at ice and snow parks such as Yudo Mountain, Yunpu Gully, World Expo, Wild Duck Lake, and Longqing Gorge will ignite the passion for ice and snow play. Among them, the Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern and Snow Carnival will have the theme ‘Shining Through Time and Space, A Glimpse of Eternity’, blending tradition with trend, creating scenes like ‘Pop Mart Ice Fantasy City’, and launching a mountain projection show.

The Beijing World Expo International Tourism Resort will present a World Expo light feast, with a 360-degree panoramic immersive light show at the China Pavilion, the World Expo Lantern Art Festival will display dazzling lanterns, and the copper pot long-table banquet invites you to enjoy the authentic taste of home.

During the Ice and Snow Joy Season, Yanqing District will also host several high-level competitions, including the 2024-2025 Snowboard Ski Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup (Yanqing Station), the National Skeleton Championship, and the Capital University College Students’ Alpine Skiing Competition.

Homestay during the Chinese New Year, flower show performances, dreams back to the Great Wall, and golden snake celebrations will also take place one after another, with non-stop excitement.
