The Hanfen Building, originally the library of The Commercial Press during its Shanghai period, was officially named in 1909 and is now located at No. 36 Wangfujing Street in Beijing. Although the bookstore today differs from the ancient library, it still retains some of the library’s functions.

The newly opened Hanfen Building bookstore is a refreshing grey-white building, with a shop sign personally written by Mr. Qi Gong. The store is bright and elegant, offering over 40,000 types of books. The selection mainly includes reference books and humanities and social science books, covering various fields such as economic management, sociology, philosophy, politics, law, military, history, geography and tourism, linguistics, literature, education, journalism and media, ancient classics, and art theory and practice.
