A century has passed since the tumultuous times, yet history continues to resonate deeply within the hearts of every Chinese person. The ‘Dingyuan’, the flagship during the First Sino-Japanese War, is vividly brought to life in the bustling heart of Weihai City. This replica of the late Qing Dynasty Beiyang Navy’s flagship, built at a 1:1 scale, transports you to the intense naval battles of the past.

Inside the warship, an array of complete and realistic weaponry, meticulously recreated historical scenes, and detailed exhibitions on the history of the Beiyang Navy and the ‘Dingyuan’ are complemented by a surround-screen cinema and interactive naval battle simulations that allow visitors to participate firsthand. Together, these elements create a unique maritime cultural landscape where one can tangibly experience history and step into the life aboard the ironclad giant from a century ago.
