The Exposition of World Architecture is not the name of a single building, but rather a collection of various Chinese-Western combined architectures on Gulangyu Island. These building complexes are collectively known as the Exposition of World Architecture and are the essence of the cultural exchanges between China and the West on Gulangyu Island.
Among these architectures, there are traditional Chinese temples with flying eaves and upturned corners, courtyard bungalows in Minnan style, the Bagua Building with a Chinese-Western combination style, small and delicate Japanese houses, the former national consulates in the European style of the 19th century, and the Shuzhuang Garden, which can be regarded as a fine example of classical Jiangnan gardens.
