The Five Pagodas Rock was originally constructed during the Northern Song Dynasty. By the Southern Song Dynasty, it was named for the five stone pagodas built in front of the temple.
These five stone pagodas in front of the Five Pagodas Rock Temple are of the Song Dynasty’s Du Po style stone architecture. Each pagoda stands at a height of 6 meters, with a square base and a three-tiered body. The first tier is hexagonal and inscribed with text, while the second and third tiers are drum-shaped. The three tiers are adorned with reliefs of Buddha statues, and the pagoda’s spire is shaped like a gourd.

The five pagodas are arranged in a line, 2 meters apart from each other, situated between the temple’s front wall and the precipitous terrain. From below, they appear majestic and spectacular.

The temple buildings of the Five Pagodas Rock are constructed in accordance with the natural landscape, featuring the Dragon Water Zen Pavilion and the Ding Guang Dao Field, resembling a pavilion in the sky with a unique scenery.
