Xiequ Garden, located in the northeastern corner of the Summer Palace, is known as the ‘garden within a garden’ due to its petite and exquisite design that stands out within the larger complex.

One of the garden’s most notable features is the Zhiyu Bridge, which is close to the water’s surface, providing an ideal spot for fish watching and serves as a symbol of Xiequ Garden.

This small garden was constructed during the Qing Dynasty’s Qianlong era, modeled after the Jichang Garden at the foot of Huishan in Wuxi, and exhibits a distinct southern Chinese garden style.

The garden comprises thirteen pavilions, terraces, halls, and arbors, interconnected by a hundred-foot corridor and five bridges of varying designs.

Opening hours and business status are subject to the day’s operational conditions.
