It is a new night tour landmark in the Yangtze River Basin. ‘The Light of Three Gorges – Situational Night Tour’ along the two rivers and four banks of Wushan is based on protecting the ecological protection barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. With Wushan culture, Three Gorges culture and Yangtze River culture as the core, and using the light and shadow techniques of modern technology as the brushstrokes, taking the millennial cliff as the scroll and the Yangtze River water as the paintbrush, it is a situational night tour customized for Wushan, featuring ‘beautiful landscapes on both sides, and a grand cultural feast connecting heaven and earth’. It is a new night tour landmark in the Yangtze River Basin. The ‘The Light of Three Gorges – Situational Night Tour’ project started construction in September 2021. Hiring a well-known domestic night tour creation team, it took two months. It was successfully performed on November 24, 2021, during the 15th China Chongqing Yangtze River Three Gorges (Wushan) International Red Leaf Festival. It was officially fully opened to the public on November 27, 2021. In February 2023, it was rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction. ‘The Light of Three Gorges – Situational Night Tour’ uses cruise ships as the carrier, with a freehand framework and bold brushstrokes, integrating cutting-edge light and shadow technology and art such as ‘panoramic view’, ‘dreamy feeling’ and ‘interactivity’. It focuses on creating the magical and gorgeousness of the millennial Wushan and the rolling Yangtze River, allowing tourists to ride the evening waves of the Yangtze River and search for the direction of light. Suddenly, they are placed in the time and space illusion of the long history of the Three Gorges. The situational night tour of ‘The Light of Three Gorges’ consists of two parts: creative light and shadow of building clusters along the two rivers and four banks and the night tour interpretation of Longmen Gorge. Among them, the creative light and shadow of building clusters along the two rivers and four banks includes four groups: Gaotang, Nanling, Ningjiangdu, and Jiangdong. The implementation scope involves creative light and shadow enhancements of 152 buildings, 4.6 kilometers of shoreline landscape, the Goddess Temple and surrounding mountains, and two ridge lines on both sides of the Wushan Yangtze River Bridge. The night tour interpretation of Longmen Gorge includes five chapters: setting sail and receiving blessings, ancient Wushan, poetic and picturesque Yangtze River, romantic Three Gorges, the return of the goddess, and beautiful Wushan, creating a ‘journey through time and space’ on the international golden tourist belt of the Yangtze River Three Gorges.
