The Mills, Hong Kong’s first cultural and creative hub, is a revitalized former textile mill with over six decades of history. It completed its revitalization project in 2018 and opened in December of the same year.
One of the visions for the revitalization was to promote items at the intersection of fashion, textiles, and technology. As a result, the mill houses many local brands and shops with their own designs, which are highly favored by the new generation of cultural youth in Hong Kong. The CHAT Six Factory (Six Factory Textile Art and Cultural Center) within The Mills is part of a conservation project. It hosts various themed exhibitions on an irregular basis, aiming to pay tribute to the textile industry’s contributions to Hong Kong’s social and economic progress through contemporary art, design, and historical connections. It also challenges the public’s traditional perceptions of textile art. Opening hours are from 10:00 to 22:00 all year round. The Mills: A Cultural and Creative Hub in Hong Kong
