This exhibition hall takes a retrospective look at the struggles of the Chinese people from all walks of life who, since the Opium War in 1840, have been plunged into the abyss of a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. It showcases their valiant resistance amidst humiliation and suffering, and their various explorations for national rejuvenation. Particularly highlighted is the glorious journey of the Chinese Communist Party leading the people of all ethnic groups in the nation to strive for national independence, people’s liberation, and the prosperity and happiness of the country.
The exhibition fully demonstrates how history and the people have chosen Marxism, the Chinese Communist Party, the socialist path, and reform and opening up. It emphasizes the necessity to always uphold the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, adhere to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and maintain the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics without wavering. Today, the Chinese nation stands tall in the east of the world, and the brilliant prospects of great rejuvenation are laid out before us.
