The ‘Dreamlike Tokyo of the Great Song Dynasty’ is a large-scale live water performance produced by Kaifeng Qingming Riverside Park, creatively planned by Mei Shuaiyuan, a live performance planner, and directed by Zhang Rensheng, a well-known live performance director.
The performance lasts for 70 minutes and involves more than 700 actors, marking another masterpiece in China’s live performances.
The ‘Dreamlike Tokyo of the Great Song Dynasty’ is an impressionistic scroll painting about the prosperous era of the Northern Song Dynasty, a historical reenactment of ‘Qingming Shanghe Tu’ and ‘The Eastern Capital: The Eastern Dream Record’.
It utilizes eight classic Song Dynasty poems and their artistic conceptions, such as ‘The Beautiful Lady Yu’, ‘Drunk in the East Wind’, ‘Butterfly Loves Flower’, and ‘Man Jiang Hong’, to outline the historical picture of the Northern Song capital, Dongjing.
